Here we are, at the last sprint of this seven-week marathon.
Many of us came to the city as outsiders, but I think all of us have gained a new appreciation, a new outlook to this landscape called Detroit.
I don’t think any of us (besides two members of the program) can yet call ourselves Detroiters, but I believe we are approaching what it means to call this city home, and the challenges and responsibilities that come with stating that dedication.
How many of you think of this place as home? Or a place to eventually call home?
With last Thursday’s speaker series focused on the downfalls of education in Detroit, do you think you would be able to raise a family in this city?
All questions to ponder during this week, a week to bid farewell to Detroit for now….
